As you are aware, the U.S. Government is encouraging the Chinese Government, to let its currency appreciate. When this occurs, the prices of all products made in China will increase in cost. And in turn, unfortunately, our cost will increase to you.

At this time, we do not know the amount of the increase. We do believe, it is in the best interests of both Governments, to keep these increases marginal, not wanting to roil the world markets during this fragile recovery.

CDI will continue to monitor this situation and keep you up to date, so we can all adjust to this eventuality.

Although the Chinese New Year begins on January 22, 2004 the factories last shipping day is January 17th.  Because the workers must travel long distances to reach their homes, and than return to the factories, they will start shipping again the second week of February.  If you have any special requests for product, please let us know at the latest, by December 1, 2004,  to avoid any delays.

The Homeland Security Act has finally caught up with the import of containers into our country. These containers have been a vulnerable area in our countries efforts to halt terrorist activity.  The evaluations, through more intense inspection of containers, has started in earnest.   The end result has been delays, once the containers reach the US ports of entry.  We are sorry for any delays that might result, but obviously, we are very pleased by the government’s diligence.

NEW MANUFACTURING FACILITY
As you are aware, CDI has become the leader in our industry, for stainless steel, acrylic and PP beverage ware. For the last 5 years we have increased our production by expanding into three separate facilities.

To better service our customers we will consolidate all three facilities into one factory complex pictured on these pages.This factory will adhere to current environmental, and international labor laws.

The complex will encompass four manufacturing buildings, a dormitory for the workers, all 800 of them, and administration offices. This will effectively double our manufacturing capacity.
